Sponsorship/Fundraising Coordinator ( Job Posting )

Position: Sponsorship/Fundraising Coordinator – Volunteer position

Principal Duties:
Help Heal Humanity is looking for an engaging coordinator to help identify businesses and donors who would be interested in sponsorship opportunities. This may include but is not limited to meeting with external clients, providing them with background information, and inspiring them to partner with us.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess various companies’ social justice and Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and previous work with other charities or organizations
  • Develop proposals to solicit sponsorships
  • Draft contracts and research corporate projects through different media channels
  • Manage negotiations with sponsors and ensure both parties are aligned to the plan
  • Plan, coordinate and implement events to host potential sponsors
  • Ensure marketing activities aimed at acquiring and using grants are coordinated properly and are in sync with the program’s directives
  • Write and file sponsorship reports for the benefit of documentation and review
  • Open fundraising events and ensure coordination of aspects such as ticketing and hospitality
  • Seek in-kind support from different corporations and foundations
  • Develop appropriate correspondence such as proposals, thank you letters and program outcome information

Education:

Must have completed post-secondary education and have at least 2 years of Fundraising / Sponsorship experience

Executive Director ( Job Description )

Position Overview:

This is a leadership role. Are you a progressive leader with experience in the not-for-profit sector looking to infuse your skill-set into the development and growth of a dynamic charitable organization? Help Heal Humanity is searching for a Volunteer Executive Director dedicated to social services and effective stakeholder engagement to help address emerging community needs in Haiti.

Responsibility:
The Executive Director is a motivated inspired leader who is driven, takes initiative, builds and maintains positive partnerships with community agencies, funders, government and media. This role will be responsible for the execution of program deliverables set out by Help Heal Humanity. This will include and is not limited to overseeing programs and developing a strategic plan for the organization. Other key duties will include supporting fundraising, marketing, and community outreach efforts.

Principal Duties:

  • Communicates effectively with the Board, providing all information necessary to members so they can make informed decisions and respond efficiently
  • Spearhead the engagement of the Board of the Directors and relevant stakeholders in updating the organization’s strategic plan
  • Supports fundraising efforts
  • Development of an annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of a comprehensive communications strategy to raise the profile and brand awareness of Help Heal Humanity
  • Responsible for the implementation, planning, and promotion of Help Heal Humanity’s programs to support the mission of the organization
  • Responsible for the enhancement of Help Heal Humanity’s image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic and private organizations.
  • Optimize the organization structure with a strong focus on succession planning and workload distribution

Education:

Must have completed post-secondary degree, and have at least 2 years of not for profit experience.

Professional Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of board experience, managing volunteer board members and providing clear direction on board mandate.
  • Transparent and high integrity leadership
  • Committed to a culture of transparency with all stakeholders, including members, staff, volunteers, funders and donors
  • Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation
    • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable reaching out to local community business leaders and proven ability to engage effectively with government and funders

Volunteer Manager ( Job Description )

Principal Duties:
This position involves a great deal of contact with other people, so a Volunteer Manager must have excellent interpersonal communication skills. A Volunteer Manager should also be able to use Microsoft Office programs to log volunteer hours, make volunteering schedules and create reports. In addition to these basic Volunteer Manager skills, employers are looking for candidates who know how to do the following.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee volunteers and ensure we’re resourced to execute against ourservice mission
  • Recruit volunteers on various online platforms
  • Screen and provide training for volunteers in coordination with program goals/ events
  • Schedule volunteers in various positions and identify areas that require additional resourcing (ex: during fundraising events)
  • Articulate HHH’s mission, objectives, and programs to volunteers
  • Coordinate and maintain positive relationships with current and past volunteer groups, both local and out of town
  • Oversee the maintenance and organization of volunteer waiver files. Work to ensure all forms are signed and returned to HHH offices in a timely manner
  • Recruit and interface with any school volunteers, summer volunteers and other programs that provide similar summer HHH volunteer placements

    Communicate frequently with volunteers to ensure they are engaged and well-placed

Director of Communication: (Job Description )

Position: Director of Communications – Volunteer Position

Principal Duties: Help Heal Humanity is seeking an accomplished Director of Communications who has at least 2 years of communications experience, ideally in an “in-house” leadership role within a nonprofit entity, and covering areas such as website content, newsletters, and donor communications. The ability to take information and transform it into exciting and useful messages, and disseminate it to the right audiences through the best distribution channels is critical.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the annual communications plan across the network’s audiences in collaboration with the Help Heal Humanity team
  • Source, develop and / or edit content for website, blog, newsletters, brochures and other print or other channels created by HHH
  • Manage HHH social platforms with engaging content consistent with our brand and mission
  • Track and measure the level of engagement within our networks on quarterly basis.
  • Work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, board members, volunteers, donors, program participants, and other supporters

Education:
Must have completed post-secondary degree, and have at least 2 years of not for profit experience.

Executive Administrative Assistant  ( Job Description )

Position: Executive Administrative Assistant – Volunteer position

Responsibilities/ Duties/ Activities:

The Executive Assistant (EA) will have a diverse, complex background and directly support the Founder of Help Heal Humanity and the Board of Directors. The incumbent is responsible for enhancing the organization’s effectiveness by providing administrative and management support. The EA will exercise professionalism, discretion, confidentiality and prioritization in all responses and communications.

  • Support the Help Heal Humanity Team including but not limited to the Founder, Bookkeeper/Accountant/Board of Directors with various duties such as drafting letters, creating newsletters and other documents, providing support with expenses and other duties as needs may arise.
  • Proofread text, write copy for social media including emails and website
  • Maintains the Founder’s e-mail system, calendar, filing system and coordinate meeting arrangement and all Board Meetings
  • Prioritize daily, weekly, monthly schedule and agenda in conjunction with the Founder and Executive Director of the Board
  • Supports the Founder with planning agendas, meeting logistics, distributing meeting notices and minutes
  • Assist with procurement of any and all supplies as it pertains to the needs of the organization
  • Assist in special projects and duties as assigned
  • Design and implement office policies by establishing standards and procedures; measure results against standards; make necessary adjustments
  • Provide support to other departments as needed and interact with various levels within the entire organization

Board of Directors ( Job Description )

Position: Board of Director – Volunteer Position

Responsibility:
Board members are responsible for acting in the best interest of the organization and the community both locally and where we serve and will bring to the team a broad knowledge, a long-range view and openness to learning.

 

Principle Duties: Every member of the Board of Directors is expected to:

  • Prepare for and participate in board meetings
  • Participate in the development of a strategic plan to help guide future decisions
  • Help establish, review and monitor operational policies including those related to the quality of care and human resources
  • Be receptive to the ideas of others, advocate their own ideas, identify common interests and alternatives, and be open to compromise
  • Abide by the by-laws, code of conduct and other policies that apply to the board
  • Participate in the evaluation of the Executive Team
  • assist in recruitment and mentorship of members of the Board of Directors
  • Attend and participate in the Annual General Meeting
  • Be an ambassador of the organization in the wider community
  • Keep informed about community issues relevant to the work of the organization.
