What is student sponsorship?

Sponsoring a child is a commitment to provide financial support to enable a child’s access to education for one academic year or for the length of your chosen sponsorship. You’ll receive regular touch-points throughout the year so that you can see the impact of your generous contribution.

Where does my contribution go?

100% of your annual sponsorship contribution goes directly to covering the following:

• All school fees for the academic year

• Textbooks

• Two (2) uniforms

• School supplies

Can I write to my sponsored child?

Absolutely! We encourage you to connect with your sponsored child and you may write as often as you like, either online or physical letters. You’ll receive letters from them, too. Creole is the official language of Haiti, so we encourage you to use Google Translate to translate from English to Haitian Creole.

• Send digital letters and photos to HHH by email info@helphealhumanity.org and we will forward them to our HHH staff in Haiti to show the students.

Connecting with your student is a heartwarming way to spread love and kindness. It lets them know that they have a cheerleader across the world, supporting them in their learning journey.

Will I receive photos of my sponsored child?

Yes! We will send you *photos with the child’s progress reports, where possible.

How do I extend the length of my sponsorship?

Email us with your request at info@helphealhumanity.org and we will provide you with the next steps.

What should I talk about in my letters?

Write your letters just like you’d chat with any child. Keep it short and simple. Share about yourself, your family, what you like to do for fun, and how you celebrate special occasions. You could also describe your city or places you’ve visited and even include photos or postcards. Remember that your sponsored child might have different beliefs and customs, so please be sensitive to their culture and practices.

Can I send gifts to my sponsored child?

Your sponsorship is already the most precious gift. We advise against sending gifts to Haiti as they may not be delivered to the intended destination. Another reason is that the other children may not receive gifts. If sending an extra gift is truly important to you, we suggest something small that fits inside a card or letter, such as a package of stickers they can share with their classmates.

Can I visit the child I am sponsoring?

Yes! Through our volunteer program, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in a volunteer trip to Haiti. The trip will include a visit with your sponsored child, a tour of the facility and school, and a chance to experience Haiti.
